The Sixth Meeting of the Active2Public Transport Project Partners
Between 24–26 February 2026, Bucharest hosted the sixth meeting of the partners involved in the Active2Public Transport (A2PT) project, bringing together key stakeholders working towards sustainable mobility solutions in the Danube Region.
Study Visit: Showcasing Good Practices in Active Mobility
The first day was dedicated to a field visit, where participants explored two relevant examples of active mobility infrastructure in Bucharest:
Parcul Liniei – an urban regeneration project that transformed a former railway line into a modern green corridor, encouraging walking and cycling as viable transport alternatives;
Lacul Morii – an area where pedestrian and cycling infrastructure were analysed, along with complementary facilities such as bike parking and repair stations, essential for supporting active mobility.
Working Sessions: Progress and Strategic Directions
On 25–26 February, the meeting continued at the headquarters of the Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration (MDLPA). Discussions focused on:
the progress of pilot project implementation;
the development of the A2PT Regional Action Plan for the Danube Region;
testing and validating the toolbox of good practices.
These sessions facilitated knowledge exchange among partners and contributed to shaping concrete solutions for integrating active mobility with public transport.

Moving Towards More Sustainable Cities
The Bucharest meeting marked an important step towards creating cities that are more accessible, healthier, and more sustainable, by promoting integrated mobility solutions.
