  • If a road has a designated cycle lane, bicycles and electric scooters must use that lane. Where no cycle lane is available, electric scooters may only be used on road sections where the maximum permitted speed for vehicles is 50 km/h.
  •  A vehicle stopped or parked on the carriageway must be positioned close to and parallel with its edge, in a single row, unless otherwise indicated by road signs or markings. Motorcycles without sidecars, mopeds and bicycles may also be stopped or parked two abreast.
  •  To ride a bicycle or an electric scooter on public roads, the rider must be at least 14 years old.
  •  Bicycles, mopeds and electric scooters used on public roads must be equipped with lights and reflective-fluorescent devices. They must not be used at night unless this equipment is in working order.
  •  A protective helmet is mandatory for bicycle and electric scooter riders under the age of 16 when travelling on the carriageway.
  •  The rules governing the use of bicycles, electric scooters, animal-drawn vehicles, military convoys, processions, organised groups and animals on public roads are established by regulation.
  •  Pedestrians, oversized or overweight motor vehicles without a special transport permit issued by the public road administrator in accordance with the applicable regulations, animal-drawn vehicles, animals, hand-drawn or hand-pushed vehicles, bicycles, electric scooters, mopeds, agricultural or forestry tractors, and self-propelled agricultural machinery are prohibited on motorways and expressways.
